Cromer Open

I am delighted that Out of the Cliff has been selected for the Cromer Open. It seems very appropriate that it will be shown a couple of miles up the coast from West Runton where all the pigments in it were collected. The Cliffs beneath East and West Runton are a crumbling jumble of different rock types. Out of them tumble mammoth bones, flints and many coloured earths from different geological eras, but also human-made things from houses that have fallen as the cliffs erode. This painting/collage is made with pigment from rusty domestic objects and copper piping, with chalk and ginger brown earth, all found fallen onto the beach.
