Open Studios at Chisenhale Studios, and Woolwich Print Fair

Four years ago, during my residency at Chisenhale Studios I made a series of etchings of one of the broken windows at the back of the building. The resulting assemblage of 77 etchings is 5m high and it has been difficult to find places to hang it. This week it will be shown in one piece for only the second time at the The Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair.

I have also donated one of these broken pane etchings to Window Shopping a fundraiser to support the much needed repair of Chisenhale Studio’s windows. Together with pane sized works by more than forty other artists, this will be available to buy for the bargain price of £100 at Chisenhale Art Place Open Studios this weekend. I will be there all weekend, welcoming visitors to my new studio at Chisnehale.

See below for invites and further details.

Chisenhale Art Place’s Open Weekend is back! Join us 20-22 October for a free weekend of open studios, tours, exhibitions and workshops. Events take place across the building, so it is a great opportunity to explore Chisenhale Studios, Chisenhale Dance Space and Chisenhale Gallery at one time. The full programme is here.

Opening Hours:
Friday 6-9pm
Saturday & Sunday 1-5pm

In addition to the Open Studios, Chisenhale Studio Artists are delighted to be running Window Shopping. Window Shopping is an initiative to raise crucial funds to repair some of the windows in the Studios. Over 40 artists have kindly donated window-pane-sized works on paper which will be displayed and on sale for £100 each. It’s a fantastic opportunity to buy the work of a range of artists, from the well established to the up-and-coming.

Work will displayed digitally on the website and Instagram in advance of the weekend, so we recommend you arrive early if you have your eye on a specific artwork, as once it’s bought it’s gone! All the funds raised will go towards the windows.
